Welcome to the Great Yarmouth Citadel Home Page.
Following a visit from the S.A. Yacht, with Captain Fielder in charge, the Army commenced operations in Great Yarmouth in August 1886. Crowds gathered in the market place to listen, they frequently grew hostile and threw abuse at the Salvationists. Meetings were also held at Randalls Mission Hall, situated in one of the Rows (alley ways) off the Market Place. We give thanks for all those who through the years have given faithful service for the continuity of the Great Yarmouth Corps, many of whom are serving elsewhere and some of whom have gone to their final home with our Lord and Master. Looking ahead to the future, we ask for God's presence and guidance in order that the work of The Salvation Army in Great Yarmouth may continue. |
